🚀 Getting started
What is DepotEmpire?
DepotEmpire is a browser game that turns your real investment portfolio into a living town. Every euro of your portfolio value becomes a resident, and every dividend adds to your gold.
As your portfolio grows, so does your town: new houses go up, people fill the streets, and you travel through 14 ages, from the Stone Age to the stars.
On top of that there's a second part of the game with your own company, an in-game exchange, missions and loans between players. You play right in your browser, on your computer or phone, with nothing to install.
Does DepotEmpire cost anything?
No, DepotEmpire is free. You can play the town, the ages, your company, the exchange and missions in full without paying anything.
There are optional extras: time crystals that shorten waiting times, and the “Battles & Defence” add-on. You don't need either one to play the game.
If you enjoy DepotEmpire, you can leave something via “Tip” or Ko-fi. It's completely voluntary and doesn't unlock anything in the game.
How do I get started?
On your first visit you're greeted by Ur-Bahir, the elder of your settlement. “Let’s go” takes you to the founding charter, where you pick your investor name, a title and a profile picture.
“Found your town” starts your settlement in the Stone Age. Then tap the turquoise “Connect with Parqet” button at the top and connect your portfolio.
After your first connection, your town jumps straight to the age that matches your portfolio value. You don't need a separate DepotEmpire account for your town.
What does “Just look around” in the welcome window mean?
With “Just look around” you can explore DepotEmpire without anything being saved on your device.
That keeps it a tour: your progress isn't saved, and you can't connect a portfolio, because the connection needs to store data on your device. On your next visit you'll start at the welcome window again.
If you want to start for real after all, tap “Connect with Parqet” and then “Back to the welcome window”.
Where can I find the game info?
In the menu you'll find “📖 Game info”, on your phone under “☰ Menu”. It briefly explains how the game works, which ages there are and at what portfolio value each one starts.
You'll also find useful links there, for example to the soundtrack on YouTube and to the Discord community.
Your game version is shown at the very bottom. That's handy when you report a bug.
Who wants to talk to me?
Every now and then a speech bubble with a portrait pops up in the top left. A resident or advisor from your age has something to tell you. Tap the portrait to listen, some of them come with good advice.
Each age has its own characters with their own stories. If you wait too long, the bubble disappears again.
If the visits bother you, turn them off under ⚙️ Settings at “Residents & advisors”. You set how loud the voices are there in the “Sound” tab with the “Narrator” slider.
Why do the advisors speak German even though I picked another language?
The voices of the advisors and citizens only exist as German recordings. But the text, role and description in the window are shown in the language you picked.
On the Alien Planet, the residents even speak a language all their own. You read what they say there as a translation.
🔗 Parqet & portfolio
Do I need Parqet? And what happens without a connection?
If you want your town to grow, yes. DepotEmpire reads your portfolio value and dividends via Parqet Connect from your account at the portfolio tracker Parqet. There's no support for other portfolio trackers or a direct connection to your bank.
A free Parqet account is enough. If you don't have one yet, you'll find a link to Parqet in the game info. It is a referral link and marked as an ad.
Without a connection you can look around and set up your profile. But your settlement stays in the Stone Age with no residents and no gold, and the company grounds also require a connection. You can connect anytime later, and your progress is kept.
How do I connect my portfolio?
Tap the turquoise “Connect with Parqet” button at the top. You'll land on Parqet, log in there and choose which portfolios DepotEmpire is allowed to read.
After that you're taken back to the game automatically. If you shared several portfolios, you pick which ones belong to your town.
The button now shows 🔄 and the name of your portfolio. Shortly after, your town moves to the matching age, and your residents and gold appear in the top bar.
What data does DepotEmpire read from my portfolio, and can it change anything?
DepotEmpire reads the names of the portfolios you shared, your current portfolio value and its history, your dividends, the breakdown by asset class and the date of your first investment. That's also where the “Investing for …” line under your name comes from.
The permission is read-only. DepotEmpire can't change anything in your portfolio, and it can't buy or sell anything.
The values it fetches are stored only in your browser. The server just passes the request on to Parqet and doesn't store anything. If you have company grounds, the server also analyzes how your portfolio is performing, but it only stores key figures from that, without any amounts. Your browser keeps the Parqet access key encrypted in a cookie that only our server can read. It is never stored there.
How often is my town updated?
As long as the game is open, DepotEmpire fetches your portfolio values regularly on its own. “Updating in …” under your name shows when the next update is due, on your phone under “☰ Menu”.
If you want to update right away, tap the Parqet button with 🔄 and your portfolio name.
DepotEmpire always shows what Parqet currently knows. New purchases or dividends only show up once they're booked in Parqet. Please don't tap over and over: Parqet limits the number of requests, and then you'll have to wait a few minutes.
Can I connect several portfolios or switch portfolios?
Yes. If you shared several portfolios on Parqet, you choose in the game which ones belong to your town. The values of all selected portfolios are added together.
To switch, tap ⚙️ next to the Parqet button and then “Choose portfolios”.
If a portfolio is missing there, you didn't share it on Parqet. With “Reconnect with Parqet” you can set the permissions on Parqet again.
What does the asset class filter do?
Under ⚙️ next to the Parqet button you decide which asset classes count toward your residents and your gold, for example stocks & ETFs, crypto or real estate. You can see the value of each class.
If you take a class out, it no longer counts, and your town adjusts right away. At least one class has to stay active.
The filter only applies on this device. The gear icon only shows up once your portfolio is connected and has been updated once.
How do I disconnect from Parqet?
Press and hold the Parqet button for 2 seconds. While you hold it, it says “Hold to disconnect…”, and if you let go early, nothing happens.
On this device, the access, your portfolio selection, the filters and the saved histories are deleted. Your town stays the way it was last.
If you have company grounds, your company is just hidden until you reconnect. Nothing is lost on the server.
My Parqet connection is suddenly gone. What now?
If the button says “Connect with Parqet” again, Parqet ended the access, for example because it expired or you changed the permissions. Just tap it and connect again.
Your town, your achievements and your company are all kept. Your company is just hidden until the connection is back.
The connection is saved per browser. On a new device, in a different browser or after clearing your browser data, you'll need to connect there once again.
Connecting doesn't work on my phone. What can I do?
Open DepotEmpire directly in your browser, for example in Safari or Chrome, and connect there. If the game is saved as a shortcut on your home screen, the return from Parqet often ends up in the browser instead of the game.
The same goes if you opened the game from inside another app, like Instagram or YouTube.
If you see “The return from Parqet was not conclusive” or “Parqet did not confirm the connection”, just wait a moment and try again.
What does the message “Parqet unreachable” mean?
The game couldn't fetch your portfolio values just now. Usually Parqet is briefly unavailable, it was updated too many times in a row, or your internet connection is acting up.
Your town stays at its last state in the meantime, and nothing is lost. Wait a few minutes or reload the page once.
I don't see any residents or gold. Why?
First check the Parqet button at the top: if it says “Connect with Parqet”, no portfolio is connected. Tap it and connect.
If you chose “Just look around” at the start, no connection can be made. Go back to the welcome window and found your town. If you have several portfolios, the portfolio selection might still be waiting for you.
Residents but no gold? Then Parqet hasn't booked a dividend yet in the portfolios and asset classes you selected. Gold comes with your first dividend.
🏘️ Town & ages
How does my portfolio value turn into residents?
It's simple: every euro of your portfolio value is one resident. If your portfolio is worth 12,345 €, your town has 12,345 residents. It counts the portfolios and asset classes you selected under ⚙️.
When your portfolio goes up, residents move in and houses appear and grow. When it goes down, residents move out and houses shrink again.
Not every resident walks around as their own figure, or the town would get clogged fast. The exact number is shown at the top next to 👥, and the arrow beside it shows whether it went up or down since the last update.
What is my gold?
Your gold shows the dividends from your selected portfolios, all of them since your portfolio started, before taxes. One euro of dividends is one gold. Dividends booked on a cash account in Parqet don’t count, because they usually appear there a second time next to the security’s dividend.
Gold is a display of your payouts, so you can't spend it. The currency for your company and the exchange is called Imperials, and that's something else.
The bigger your gold, the more splendid the gold vault in your town becomes.
Which ages are there?
There are 14 ages: Stone Age, Bronze Age, Iron Age, Antiquity, Middle Ages, Age of Discovery, Industrial Age, Modern Age, Future, Moon Base, Mars Colony, Alien Planet, Space Station and Interstellar.
Each age has its own look, music, sounds and its own residents who tell you stories.
The portfolio value at which each age starts is listed in the menu under “📖 Game info”. Under ⚙️ Settings you can also turn on the Age bar, which shows at the bottom of the screen where you are right now.
How do I reach the next age?
Only through your portfolio value. Once your resident count passes the threshold for the next age, your town moves on: with an announcement, new buildings, new music and new residents.
If your portfolio jumps a lot, your town can even skip several ages at once.
Savings plans and deposits count just like price gains, because what counts is your portfolio value. You can't buy an age.
Can I lose an age again?
Yes. If your portfolio value drops below the threshold of your age, for example after a market dip or a sale, your town falls back to the previous age. The game tells you about the setback with a little story.
Your town is then rebuilt in the older style. You keep any achievements and stars you've earned, and nothing on your company grounds gets torn down.
When your portfolio rises again, you'll move back up as usual.
Why did my town shrink?
Your town follows your portfolio value. If prices fell, or you sold or withdrew money, residents move out and houses get smaller or disappear.
Also check the ⚙️ Parqet settings: a deselected portfolio or an excluded asset class no longer counts. Corrections in Parqet, like deleted or edited transactions, also affect your residents and gold.
How much has changed is shown briefly by the number above your town hall, and in detail by the resident history in the town hall.
Why does DepotEmpire show different values than Parqet or my other device?
Your town only counts the portfolios and asset classes you selected under ⚙️. This selection is per device, so it can be different on your phone and computer.
Also, the town updates at intervals, so Parqet may already have newer data in between. Tapping the Parqet button fetches it right away.
Your gold counts all dividends since your portfolio started, before taxes. Depending on the view, Parqet may show you a different time period or net values.
What happens in my town when a dividend comes in?
Once Parqet has booked a new dividend and your town updates, it's time to celebrate: the increase appears above the gold vault, with cheering and fireworks.
The amount goes into your gold in the top bar. You can see how much came in over the last few months in the town hall on the “💰 Gold” tab.
By the way, the coin bubble “Your company paid out” belongs to your in-game company and has nothing to do with your real dividends.
Where can I see how my town has developed?
Tap 👥 Residents or 💰 Gold at the top, or your town hall in the town. In the “Exchange & town hall” window you'll find the “👥 Residents” and “💰 Gold” tabs.
The resident history shows the last four weeks, and the gold history shows the dividends of the last six months, month by month.
Both histories need a Parqet connection, but you don't need company grounds for them.
Which buildings are in my town?
The heart of your town is your residents' houses. They appear and grow with your resident count, in a different style in each age. In the middle stands your town hall, which grows along with them and opens the “Exchange & town hall” window when you tap it.
The gold vault shows your gold. Depending on the age, there are also special landmarks, like a colosseum, a harbor or a train station. You can tap many of them to hear something.
You don't build the houses in your town yourself, your portfolio does that. You can build things yourself on the company grounds next to the town.
⭐ Achievements & profile
What are achievements and stars?
Achievements are milestones that earn you stars: for example for your resident count, your gold, the ages you've reached, the number of dividend payments you've received, your loyalty and quite a bit more. A few achievements are secret and only reveal their condition once you've completed them.
Tap ⭐ Stars at the top to see all achievements with progress bars. Newly earned ones are marked as new there for a while.
When you complete an achievement, a notification pops up at the edge of the screen. Tap it to jump straight to that achievement.
What are stars good for?
Stars show how far you've come, and they also appear on your status image.
If you unlock the company grounds, your stars get you Imperials, the currency of your company. Each star brings a fixed amount, including every one you collect later. Your star count itself stays the same.
Do I lose achievements if my portfolio drops?
No. Achievements and stars you've earned stay yours, even if your resident count goes down or you fall back to an earlier age.
For gold achievements, what counts is the total gold you've ever received, not your current amount.
After switching devices or clearing your browser data, most achievements are awarded again at the next sync with your portfolio. A few that only your browser knew about will need to be earned again there.
How do the login streak and loyalty work?
The “📅 Loyalty” category in the achievements window counts two things: how many days have passed since you started playing, and how many days in a row you've stopped by. To count a day in your streak, just open the game once that day.
Without a game account, only your browser keeps count. It then says “counted on this device only”, and a missed day starts your streak over.
With company grounds, the server counts across all your devices, and the day changes at midnight German time. A missed day then only costs part of your streak, and after a few days off it's used up. Your streak also feeds into your company's share price as a small loyalty factor.
How do I get and change my title?
You can freely choose the basic titles Investor, Trader, Depositor, Saver, Strategist and Visionary right from the start.
More titles come with the company grounds: fame titles unlock as your total fame from missions grows, and you keep them for good. Others belong to awards, for example Imperial Missionary or Treasurer. Locked titles are grayed out in the selection list.
You choose your title via your profile picture, where you can also pick the male or female form. How much fame you still need for the next title is shown on the Fame tab under “Your road to the top”.
How do I change my profile picture, name or title?
Tap your profile picture in the top left or the pencil ✏️ next to it. On your phone, you'll find “Edit profile” under “☰ Menu”.
There you can change your investor name, title and profile picture and confirm everything with “Save”.
It's free. If you have a game account, other players will see the change too, for example on the exchange.
What investor name should I choose?
Your investor name can be 3 to 24 characters long: letters (including accented ones), numbers, spaces, hyphens, apostrophes and periods. Out of ideas? The dice next to the field will suggest a name.
Other players see your name, for example on the in-game exchange and in rankings. So it's better not to use your real name.
Offensive, misleading or illegal names are not allowed.
How do I share my progress?
In the achievements window there's “Create status image”. The image shows your residents, your gold, your stars, how long you've been playing and your login streak.
If you don't want to show a number, tap it before sharing and it gets blurred. Then you can share, save or copy the image.
🪙 Company grounds & Imperials
What are the company grounds?
The company grounds lie next to your town by the mountains. They open up the second part of the game: your own company with headquarters and more buildings, the in-game exchange with all the other investors, and loans between players.
Missions, the Training Camp, the Market Hall and the Crystal Trader are part of it too. Without the grounds, you just keep playing your town as usual.
How do I unlock the company grounds?
You need a connection to your Parqet account. If you don't have one yet, you'll find a link in the unlock window to create one for free.
Tap the empty area next to your town. The first time, a privacy notice appears, then the unlock window with a preview of how many Imperials your stars will bring you.
Unlocking is free, and your stars are credited as Imperials. After that, a “Found a company” sign appears on the grounds.
What happens to my data when I unlock the grounds?
Until you unlock them, DepotEmpire runs only in your browser. Only with the company grounds, and after you agree, is a game account created on our server, because the exchange, rankings and missions need a shared place.
What gets stored: your Parqet user ID as a pseudonym, your investor and company name, game metrics as neutral values without amounts, your game progress, plus your last visit and your login streak. Login credentials and portfolio values are never stored, and your portfolio is only read.
If you decline the notice, you just keep playing without a company and can change your mind anytime. You can also delete your game account anytime later.
I can't unlock the company grounds. What should I do?
If the Unlock button is gray, the Parqet connection is usually missing. Connect your account right in the window and then open it again.
If the game shows an error, for example that your portfolio data can't be fetched right now, try again in a few minutes.
If you already unlocked the grounds on another device, you don't have to do it again: connect with the same Parqet account and your company account is taken over automatically. If you declined storage in your browser, the grounds can't be unlocked.
What are Imperials?
Imperials are the currency of your company. You can see your balance in the top bar, and tapping it opens the Imperials window with your recent transactions.
You use Imperials to pay for everything around your company grounds: plots, buildings and their upgrades, renaming your company, training at the Training Camp, purchases at the Market Hall and loans to other players.
Imperials are purely in-game values, not money and not a credit balance. You can't buy them with real money, you only earn them in the game.
How do I get Imperials?
The main sources are your stars from achievements, the daily login bonus and your company's dividend, which goes into your account every night.
On top of that you get Imperials from missions, from selling items, interest when you lend Imperials to other players, and the Imperial Bank's savings interest on your balance.
If you sell a building or your company, you also get part of your investment back. You'll find every transaction in the Imperials window under “Recent transactions”.
Do I earn interest on my imperials?
Yes. The Imperial Bank pays interest on your whole Imperial balance, like a savings account. Your balance earns interest every night and the fractions add up. Every Friday the bank pays out the whole Imperials, you get a bubble and see the entry “Savings interest” in the Imperials window.
The rate is the same for all players and is set every Friday for the new week. If a lot is spent in the city, it rises; if money piles up in the accounts, it falls. You can find the current rate in the Courier on Fridays and at any time at the top of the Imperials window, together with how much has already accrued.
There is no upper limit, large sums earn full interest too. If you have taken out a loan yourself, the bank only pays interest on the balance above your outstanding debt. You receive interest if you have played within the last 14 days. Items, experts and premium buildings do not change the rate. Like any income, part of the interest flows into your war chest if you play the addon.
How do my stars turn into Imperials, and why am I missing some?
Each star gives you a fixed number of Imperials. When you unlock the company grounds, all stars collected up to then are credited at once, and after that new stars are added automatically as soon as you're online.
Stars for residents, gold and ages are checked against your portfolio. If your portfolio can't be fetched right now, the game catches up on the credit later on its own, and nothing is lost.
Achievements related to your company are awarded by the game itself, some of them only at the nightly settlement. Each star is only credited once.
How does the daily login bonus work?
Once you own the company grounds, you get a few Imperials once per calendar day when you open the game. A short message confirms the credit.
The day changes at midnight German time. Missed days aren't paid out later.
What's the difference between gold and Imperials?
Gold belongs to your town: it grows with the real dividends from your portfolio and is stored in your game progress in your browser.
Imperials belong to your company grounds: you earn them in the game, and they're stored in your game account on our server. The two currencies are separate and can't be exchanged.
🏢 Company & buildings
How do I found my company?
After unlocking the grounds, tap the “Found a company” sign. In the founding window you choose a company name and up to 3 products with their shares, and you'll see it all right away on your founding charter. Once you found your company, your product mix is fixed for 30 days.
After that, your headquarters is built automatically, which takes a few hours. Only once it's finished can you build more buildings.
The exchange includes your company in its calculation as early as the night after you found it.
Which product should I choose, and can I change it later?
Each product belongs to a sector and has three key figures: the profit margin sets your profit, base demand your revenue, and risk how much both swing. A high profit margin only comes with high risk.
Each sector has its season. On every product card you can see roughly how long a season cycle lasts and whether the sector is currently up or down. The further your age, the more products you can choose from.
Yes. In “My company”, the “🏷️ Products” button opens your portfolio. There you can swap your product or mix up to 3 products. Your first choice is free, after that every change is followed by a 30-day cooldown. When you upgrade the production hall to level 4 or 5, your next change is free right away each time.
What do several products and production lines bring?
Line 1 of your company can mix up to 3 products. You set the shares with sliders (at least 20 % per product). The line's demand and profit margin follow your shares. On average a mix does not earn more, but it swings less, because every sector has its own season.
On top of that there is a portfolio bonus: 3 products from the same sector give the specialisation bonus (+3 percentage points profit margin), 3 products from 3 different sectors give the diversification bonus (+3 % demand). Both apply to all lines.
From production hall level 4 and 5 you get one extra line each. It produces a product from your portfolio on top, at full capacity. Its profit goes into your dividend. Your company build-out and the push apply there, but no items, no lab and no premium buildings. Extra lines do not affect your share price.
A product runs on at most one extra line. If you don't choose, the line automatically takes the product with the largest share that is still free. So for the third line you need more than one product. Assigning a new line does not start a cooldown.
What are the rules for the company name, and how do I rename my company?
The name has 3 to 24 characters: letters (including accented ones), numbers, spaces, plus hyphens, periods and apostrophes. Each company name can only exist once, and the game rejects inappropriate names.
You can rename your company on the “My company” tab with “Rename”. It costs Imperials, and the price is shown on the button.
Your investor name is something else: you change it for free via your profile picture.
Can I have multiple companies or multiple accounts?
No, each player has exactly one active company. You can only found a new company once you've sold the old one.
Your game account is tied to your Parqet account, so please create only one account per person. If you connect with the same Parqet account on another device, you keep playing with the same company.
Which company buildings are there, and what do they do?
The headquarters (HQ) comes with founding your company. Its level determines how far you can upgrade the other buildings, and every level brings a little more revenue.
The Production hall and Office building boost your production. The production hall also brings more revenue, the office a higher profit margin. Marketing increases demand. On its first levels, the Warehouse smooths out swings in demand, after that it brings more profit. The Research lab makes your share price steadier and raises your dividend with every level.
The production hall goes up to level 5: levels 4 and 5 unlock extra lines (see “What do several products and production lines bring?”).
On top of that there are two premium buildings for later ages: the Shipping centre (more profit margin and dividend) and the AI centre (more demand and dividend).
Each building exists once per company. The exact values per level are in the menu under “🏢 Company info”.
How do the plots work?
There are eight plots on your grounds. Your HQ takes the first one when you found your company, and you open up the rest one by one with Imperials. Each additional plot costs more, and the price is shown on the plot.
Opening a plot is instant, with no build time, even while a building is under construction.
Two of the plots are premium plots: they only open in later ages and can only hold the two premium buildings.
How do I build a building, and how do I upgrade it?
Tap a free, opened plot. In the build menu you choose the building, and before you confirm you'll see the cost and build time.
To upgrade, tap the finished building and choose “Upgrade to Lv …”. No building can go higher than your HQ allows.
You have one build crew: only one building can be built or upgraded at a time. So plan what you'll need next.
How long does construction take, and when does the new level kick in?
Build time is real time and keeps running even when you're not playing. Higher levels take much longer. You'll see the countdown right at the construction site.
A new building only takes effect once it's finished. During an upgrade, the building keeps working at its current level, and the new level counts from completion.
You can shorten an ongoing build with time crystals, and each crystal saves one hour.
I can't build. Why?
Is something already being built? Your build crew only works on one building at a time, so wait until the countdown runs out. That also applies to building your HQ right after you found your company.
Is your HQ high enough? For higher levels, your HQ has to be upgraded further first. Is the plot opened and free? Do you have enough Imperials? Each building can only exist once.
Premium buildings need a premium plot and the right age. If one of your loans is overdue, building is blocked until the debt is paid off. And without an active Parqet connection, your company is hidden.
Can I sell a building again?
Yes, with “Sell” in the building's window. You get back part of your total investment in that building, and the confirmation shows you the exact amount.
The plot stays opened. Your share count and your market value go down accordingly.
The HQ can't be sold, and it's not possible while a build is in progress. The game puts any equipped items back into your bag, so there needs to be enough room in it.
What happens if I sell my company?
You get back part of all the Imperials you put into buildings and plots. You'll see the amount beforehand in the confirmation.
All buildings and opened plots are lost. Items in your company buildings are sold along with them at their current sell value, and locked items go back into your bag. If you want to keep items, take them out first or lock them.
After that you can found a new company right away, even with a different product. You keep your grounds, Imperials, missions and Training Camp. As long as you have a loan outstanding, you can't sell your company.
What does “Push production” do?
Once per calendar day, you can boost your production on the “My company” tab or in the HQ. That gives your company noticeably more revenue, profit and dividend for that day, plus a small bonus for your share price.
The effect shows up at the next nightly settlement. The button becomes available again at midnight German time, and a push after midnight already counts for the new day.
What does “Company bonuses” show?
On the “My company” tab you'll find the “Company bonuses” button. It shows everything currently affecting your company, broken down by buildings, equipped items and your Expert's attributes.
There's deliberately no grand total, because the bonuses apply at different points in the daily calculation. All values are used in the nightly settlement, and buildings under construction still count at their old level there.
📈 Profit, dividend & exchange
How does my company make a profit?
Your company sells its product every day. Revenue depends on your build-out, the demand for your product and whether you boosted production that day.
What's left of revenue after the profit margin is your profit. If your real portfolio did well over the last 7 days, your profit is a bit higher, and if it did poorly, a bit lower.
Buildings and items raise production, demand, profit margin or profit directly. Everything you build makes this daily profit bigger.
When is the settlement?
Every night the exchange settles the previous day: prices, profits, dividends and the ranking are recalculated. The “Next exchange calculation in” countdown on the DEX tab shows when that happens.
For a push, what counts is the calendar day you pressed it. Buildings count as soon as they're finished at settlement time.
How much dividend do I get, and do I have to collect it?
Every night your company pays out part of its profit to you as Imperials. The Research lab, Shipping centre, AI centre and matching items raise the dividend, and your Expert's Dividend Strategy raises the share that gets paid out.
The dividend goes into your account automatically. The “Your company paid out” bubble just shows you the breakdown, so you don't have to collect anything, and nothing expires.
If you have a loan running, part of every payout goes straight to your lender. You'll see that as a separate line in the breakdown.
How does demand work?
Each sector has its seasons, and on top of that every day swings a little. Demand is calculated the same way for all players: if you have the same product, you have the same market.
Next to your product name you can see whether your product was in strong, normal or weak demand recently. On the Market tab you can see which sectors are currently trending up or down.
Marketing and the AI centre raise your demand permanently, and on its first levels the Warehouse smooths out the swings.
My profit or dividend went down. Why?
Usually it's demand: your sector is in its off-season right now or had a weak day. That evens out over time.
If you didn't boost production yesterday, you're missing the push bonus. A weak week in your real portfolio also lowers your profit a bit.
If you sold a building or took items out of buildings, their bonus is gone. If you have a loan running, part of the payout goes to your lender. An ongoing upgrade is never the reason, though: until it's finished, the old level keeps working.
Does my company rest when I'm not playing?
No, your company keeps working: it's settled every night, and the dividend goes into your account even if you don't log in. Ongoing builds get finished.
But without logging in you miss out on the push, the login bonus and your login streak. Your portfolio values are only updated when you open the game, and during a longer break they slowly slip slightly below neutral.
If you're away for longer, you no longer count toward the exchange average, and your share price only moves slowly, both up and down.
How is my company's share price determined?
Every night your company gets a score and is compared with the average of all active companies. If you're above it, your share price goes up, if you're below it, it goes down.
Your real portfolio has the biggest influence: your return over the last 7 days, your return over the last 90 days and your internal rate of return since your portfolio started. Your login streak, push and company build-out count a little too.
There's also a little daily noise. If your company earns more than average, it gets a small extra boost. The share price can only move so much per day.
What do D1, D2 and D3 mean?
D1 is your portfolio's return over the last 7 days, D2 over the last 90 days. Both are time-weighted: deposits don't count as gains. D3 is your internal rate of return since your portfolio started and rewards good timing of your regular investments. If your portfolio is still young, D3 counts as neutral.
Everything is calculated in percent, so a small portfolio has the same chances as a big one. 0.5 means neutral, and the values are capped at the top and bottom.
The values are read from your portfolio once a day, the first time you open the game. On the “My company” tab, the D1, D2, D3, L, P and F buttons show their history.
Why is my share price falling?
Your share price is measured against the average of the active companies. If your portfolio is doing worse than the other players' portfolios right now, it falls, even if your portfolio itself is up.
Missed pushes, a broken login streak or a long absence also cost you a bit. On top of that there's a little random noise every day, so the odd down day is normal.
The Research lab makes your share price steadier, but not better. In the long run, what helps most is a portfolio that's doing well.
What is market value, and why doesn't my share count go up right away?
Market value (market capitalization) is the share price times the number of your shares. Every Imperial you put into buildings and plots issues new shares, like a capital increase. Building items add extra shares.
Plots count right away, but build and upgrade costs only count once the build is finished. If you sell a building, your share count goes down again.
The ranking is sorted by market value, not by share price alone. So the companies at the top are the ones that are well built out and doing well.
What is the DEX, and what does the Market tab show?
The DEX (DepotEmpire Index) is the ranking of all player companies by market value. It's updated regularly, and you can see your own rank above it. Companies in the top 30 carry the “DEX 30” badge.
Tapping a company opens its price history for the last four weeks.
The Market tab shows the top gainers and top losers of the day, the sectors trending up and down, and newly founded companies.
Can I buy or sell other players' shares?
No. Each player runs their own company, and the exchange compares all companies by share price and market value.
You can invest in other players through the loan market: there you lend them Imperials and get them back with interest.
Does the in-game exchange affect my real portfolio?
No. The exchange is a game. Your real portfolio is only read, never changed, and only in-game currency is involved.
Nobody can see how much money you really have. Only returns in percent count for the share price, never amounts.
What can other players see about me?
On the exchange, others see your company name, your investor name with title and badges, your product, your share price with its daily change, your market value and your rank, and with a tap also your price history.
On the loan market, they see your investor and company name, your rating, the amount, interest rate and purpose for your requests.
Nobody sees your portfolio values, positions or real amounts. At most, your share price gives a rough idea of whether your portfolio has recently done better or worse than others.
🤝 Loans
What are loans between players, and who can take part?
In the exchange's “Loans” tab, you can borrow Imperials from other players, for example for your next building plot, or lend out your own and earn interest. It's all about in-game currency only.
You can take part once you have your own company, your account is a few days old and you've collected enough stars. If something is missing, the tab tells you why.
As a borrower, you can only have one loan or one open request at a time.
How do I request a loan?
Under “Request a loan”, enter the amount, interest and purpose. Your limit shows how much you can ask for. It grows with your daily income.
The more interest you offer, the faster you'll find a lender. A fee applies once the loan goes through, so you get paid out a bit less than you pay back. The preview shows you every amount beforehand.
If nobody takes it, the request expires after a while. You can withdraw it for free at any time, as long as nobody has funded it yet. After paying off a loan in full, there's a short break before your next request.
How do I pay back a loan?
Your company pays it down automatically: part of every nightly payout goes straight to your lender.
You pay the rest yourself, whenever you like, in part or in full. Interest accrues daily on the amount still owed, so the sooner you repay, the less interest you pay. A small minimum interest always applies.
Under “My loans”, you can see what it takes to pay off the loan in full today and how much interest that saves you.
What happens if I don't pay back my loan on time?
The game warns you shortly before the term ends. Once the loan is due, enforced collection starts: whatever is in your account and every new bit of income is collected automatically until the debt is settled.
Until then, building, upgrading, renaming, training, buying at the Market Hall, time crystals and new loans are all locked. From the due date on, no more interest accrues.
Enforced collection lowers your rating, which other players see on your future requests.
How do I lend Imperials, and can I lose anything?
Under “Open requests”, pick one and tap “Fund”. The Imperials are deducted right away and flow back to you bit by bit, with interest.
Repayment is guaranteed, even if the other player deletes their account. What you put in is time: your money is tied up until the end of the term. If you delete your own account, your outstanding repayments are lost.
The rating in the list shows how reliably someone has paid back so far. Five stars means always on time so far, “new” means no loans yet.
Why can't I lend or request a loan?
The game tells you the reason right on the button. Common ones: your account is too new, not enough stars, no company of your own, or you still owe money yourself.
When lending, also keep in mind: you can only lend part of your balance per loan, only fund a limited number of loans at a time, and not lend to the same player twice in quick succession. Imperials you've just borrowed can't be lent out again for a few days.
When requesting: only one loan at a time, and a short break after paying one off in full.
🧭 Missions & Training
What are missions?
You send out missions from the “Missions & Market Hall” building on your company grounds. Your expedition team sets off and brings back Imperials, plus Fame if it succeeds, and with a little luck a find (item) or even a treasure for your display case.
You always get a choice of four boxes with different durations. The longer a mission takes, the bigger the reward, find chance and treasure chance, but the success chance drops a little.
Each box shows you the duration, success chance, reward, Fame and item chance up front.
What do I need to play missions?
Missions, the Market Hall, Fame and the display case are part of the company grounds. As soon as you've unlocked the grounds, you can get started.
Training at the Training Camp, an equipped expert and team items make your missions better, but they're not required.
How do I start a mission?
On your company grounds, open “Missions & Market Hall” and switch to the “Missions” tab. On your phone, you can also get there via “Missions” in the bar at the bottom.
Pick one of the four boxes and tap “Set off”. From then on you'll see the progress bar with the exact end time, also above the building on your company grounds.
If your bags are almost full, the game asks before you start, because finds are lost on collection if there's no free slot.
Can I run several missions at once or cancel one?
Only one mission runs at a time. You can start the next one once it's back.
Finished missions you haven't collected yet don't block you. So you can start a new one and pick up the old one later.
A running mission can't be canceled. If you don't want to wait, you can speed it up with time crystals.
What kinds of missions are there?
There are four kinds: Exploration, Diplomacy, Team Event and Excavation. Which kind shows up in a box is random.
The first three each have a matching expert attribute that raises the success chance: Work-Life Balance for Exploration, Political Career for Diplomacy and Influencer for Team Events.
Excavation only shows up in the longest box. Only luck counts there, but a successful excavation can turn up time crystals. Every mission type has its own treasure collection.
How do I collect a finished mission?
When a mission is back, the bubble “A mission is back!” appears. Tap it to see the result with Imperials, Fame and your finds. On your phone, it's also listed under “Your day”.
If several missions are waiting, you collect them one after another, oldest first. The bubble stays as long as anything is still waiting.
You only get Imperials, finds, treasures and Fame when you collect. Fame counts for the month you collect it in, so it pays not to wait too long.
Why did the missions on offer change?
All four boxes are rerolled after every start. On top of that, there's a fresh offer every day starting at midnight.
A box's duration and type are fixed as soon as you see it. When you set off, you get exactly what the box says.
My mission brought (almost) nothing. Why?
Any mission can fail, the success chance is shown on the box. A failure only gets you a small consolation prize in Imperials, but no Fame, no find and no treasure.
Even on success, a find isn't guaranteed, the box only shows the chance of one. Treasures are rarer still. If your bag was full when you collected, the find was left behind, but you still get the Imperials.
If you sped up the mission with time crystals, you only get Imperials for the time it actually ran.
I equipped an item or finished training. Why doesn't my running mission change?
A mission's result is locked in when it sets off. Only the bonuses active at that moment count.
So new items or training levels take effect from the next mission on. Reloading or switching devices won't change the result.
How do I make my missions better?
At the Training Camp, you train your team. That permanently brings more Imperials, shorter durations and better finds.
Also at the Training Camp, you equip your expert with expert items and your Exploration Team with team items. Expert attributes raise success chances and Imperials, team items improve find chance, rare chance, sale value, Imperials or duration.
In the Missions tab, the bonus bar shows what's currently in effect overall and where it comes from.
How does training at the Training Camp work?
There are three kinds of training: Item Lore (better find chance and higher sale value, plus a better rare chance at higher levels, though items from the Market Hall sell for at most 95 % of their purchase price), Big Pockets (more Imperials from missions) and Running Training (shorter missions).
Each level costs Imperials and takes real time. Only one training runs at a time, and once started, it can't be canceled.
Your missions keep running as usual in the meantime. If you don't want to wait, you can speed up training with time crystals.
Why does my new time item barely shorten missions anymore?
The duration can't be cut down endlessly. Past a certain reduction, the effect flattens out: every extra time item still helps, but less and less.
On top of that, a mission never drops below a fixed floor of its base duration. Find chance, rare chance and success chance also have a cap per mission. The tooltip on the bonus bar tells you how much room is left.
Where can I see my past missions?
The Training Camp has a “Mission log” tab. It lists your completed missions with success or failure, Imperials, finds, treasures and Fame.
At the top you'll find a summary with all your missions, your success rate and what they've brought in overall.
🎒 Items, bag & Market Hall
What item rarities are there?
There are five tiers: Common (gray), Uncommon (green), Rare (blue), Epic (purple) and Legendary (orange).
The rarer an item, the stronger its effect and the more it sells for. Depending on rarity, building items also give your company extra shares, and some epic and legendary pieces have a second effect.
Two copies of the same item can have slightly different values. The tooltip shows the exact values of your piece.
What kinds of items are there?
Building items go into the item slots of your company buildings. They improve things like revenue, profit margin, demand, profit or dividend. Each one only fits the building type it's made for.
Expert items are worn by your expert at the Training Camp. They give attribute points that improve your missions and, in part, your company too.
Team items equip your Exploration Team. They raise find chance, rare chance, sale value and Imperials from missions, or shorten the duration.
Items just sitting in your bag do nothing. They only help once equipped.
How do I equip an item?
Open your bag with the bag icon next to your profile picture, or on your phone via “Bag” in the bar at the bottom.
Right-click an item, or press and hold it on your phone, and choose “Equip”. You can also tap a free slot on the building, the expert or the Exploration Team directly.
The tooltip compares the new item with whatever is already in the slot. If the slot is taken, the old item goes back into your bag.
Why can't I equip my item?
The item doesn't fit this slot. Building items only go into their own building, expert items only into the matching equipment slot, team items only into the Exploration Team.
The building is still under construction or being upgraded. Then you can only equip once it's done, but removing items works any time. Or the item slot isn't unlocked yet.
Items from the “Battles & Defence” addon belong in towers, the squad or the boss and need the addon.
How do I unlock more item slots in my buildings?
Every company building has one item slot once it's finished. You can unlock up to three more with Imperials, and each slot costs a bit more than the last.
Locked slots have a padlock, with the price right next to it. While a building is being built or upgraded, you can't unlock slots.
What does the expert do?
Your expert lives at the Training Camp and has ten equipment slots for expert items.
The items give attribute points: Work-Life Balance (Exploration), Political Career (Diplomacy), Influencer (Team Events and your company's demand), 4-Day Week (shorter missions), ECB Rate Expert (more Imperials from missions) and Dividend Strategy (higher payout from your company).
More points mean a stronger effect, but each extra point adds a little less than the one before. If all ten slots hold legendary items, you earn the permanent award “The Expert”.
How much fits in my bag, and what happens when it's full?
Your bag has a fixed number of slots. How many are taken is shown in the tab next to its name. Equipped items don't count.
There are two pockets, each with its own space: “City & Company” for items from missions and the Market Hall, “Battles & Defence” for items from the addon.
When a pocket is full, a find is lost when you collect a mission, and the Market Hall won't sell you anything. The game warns you ahead of time, so sell or equip something first.
How do I sell items? Can I salvage them?
Right-click the item in your bag, or press and hold it on your phone, and choose “Sell”. The amount is shown in the tooltip as the sale value and is credited to you right away.
The Item Lore training and team items with sale value increase what you get. Items from the Market Hall sell for at most 95 % of their purchase price.
Equipped and locked items can't be sold. A sale is final, you can't buy the item back. There's no salvaging in the game.
Why would I lock items?
A locked item can't be sold, so you won't sell your favorite piece by accident. You can lock and unlock at any time from the right-click or press-and-hold menu.
If you sell your company, any building items equipped in it are sold along with it. Locked items go back into your bag instead.
My item disappeared. What happened?
First check whether it's equipped. Items in buildings, on the expert or in the Exploration Team are no longer in your bag. Addon items sit in their own pocket, “Battles & Defence”.
If your bag was full when you collected a mission, the find was left behind. The result window says so too.
If you sold your company, unlocked building items were sold along with it at their current sale value. You'll find the amount in your Imperials history. If you can't find an explanation, report it via “🐞 Report a problem” in the menu.
What do Warehouse items do?
Warehouse items raise your company's profit. Epic and legendary Warehouse items also raise your dividend.
Warehouse items used to say “demand smoothing”. That has been changed, and existing items were updated automatically.
The Warehouse building itself still smooths demand on its first levels, after that it brings more profit.
When do my building items take effect?
Building items and expert attributes for your company are factored into the nightly settlement. So whatever you equip today shows up in the next daily result.
They improve revenue, profit and payout. Building items also bring shares, which raise your company's market value.
You'll find an overview of everything currently affecting your company under “Company bonuses”.
What is the Market Hall, and how do I buy there?
The Market Hall is a tab in the “Missions & Market Hall” building. Every day, three new random finds wait for you there, which you can buy with Imperials.
Each offer is available only once. Once it's bought, the spot stays empty until the next day. New stock arrives at midnight, and you can see the time left right in the Market Hall.
Items you buy go into your bag. If you don't own the matching building for a building item yet, the game warns you before you buy. Prices are well above the sale value. If you resell an item you bought, you get at most 95 % of the purchase price, even with Item Lore and sale value items.
Can I sell items at the Market Hall or trade with other players?
No. You can only buy at the Market Hall, and there's no trading between players.
You sell items straight from your bag to the game, and the tooltip shows the amount as the sale value.
Why can't I buy anything at the Market Hall?
If your bag is full, buying is locked. Sell or equip an item first.
Maybe you don't have enough Imperials, or the offer has already been bought today.
If enforced collection on a loan is currently running, spending is locked until your debt is settled.
🏆 Fame & treasures
What is Fame, and how do I get it?
You get Fame for successful missions. It's made up of a base value for the duration, a share of your Imperials and a bonus for finds and treasures. A failed mission gives no Fame.
Fame can't be spent. It counts toward the Fame ranking, the monthly race and your titles.
You'll find the ranking in the “Fame” tab of “Missions & Market Hall”, for this month, last month or all-time.
How does the monthly race work?
Every month, a new race for the most Fame begins. What counts is the Fame you collect during that month. So a long mission shortly before the end of the month might already count for the new month.
The race ends at midnight at the end of the month. During the following night, the top three receive the Golden, Silver or Bronze Podium. These awards last until the next month change.
Your all-time Fame always stays with you, only the monthly counter starts over. During the last few days, the game reminds you that the end is coming.
What awards are there, and why did I lose my title?
You keep “The Expert” (all ten expert slots legendary) and “Imperial Missionary” (lots of Imperials earned from missions) for good.
Travelling awards always belong to the current leader: Legendary Collector (most legendary finds), Master Excavator (most successful excavations) and Treasurer (most Fame from treasures). They're handed out again every night.
If someone overtakes you, the travelling award is gone, and with it the matching title. You then automatically get your best permanent title back, plus a notice on your next visit. You can see your awards in the Fame tab.
What are treasures, and how do I find them?
Treasures are rare collectibles you can only find on successful missions. They come on top of the regular find, so one mission can bring both.
The longer the mission box, the higher the treasure chance. Each mission type has its own collection, and there are the same five rarity tiers as for items.
A treasure goes straight into your display case. It doesn't need a bag slot, so it can never be lost because of a full bag, and it brings you Fame. Treasures don't give Imperials.
I found the same treasure twice. Is that worth anything?
Yes, every find counts in full. Even a second or third copy gives you the full Fame for its rarity tier. In the display case, it simply stacks.
You can't sell treasures, they're purely for collecting and Fame. For the treasure achievements in the stars window, only different pieces count.
How does the display case work, and how do I see other players' treasures?
In the “Your display case” tab, you can see all the treasures you've found and your collection progress.
You can put four pieces on public display on your shelf. On a computer, right-click a treasure, on your phone, press and hold it, then choose “Put on display” or “Take off the shelf”.
In the Fame ranking, tapping a player opens their display case.
What does “First ever!” mean?
For every treasure, the game remembers in what order you found it. The tooltip shows the first three finders with the date, plus your own place.
If you're the very first player to find that piece, the result says “First ever!”. Your place is yours forever.
Legendary treasures are something special: whoever finds one shows up in the Fame tab for everyone to see.
💎 Time crystals & addon
What are time crystals, and what do I use them for?
A time crystal cuts one hour off a running process. That works for missions, construction times on your company grounds and training at the Training Camp, and with the addon also for processes in the Watch House.
You decide how many to use at once, all the way up to “done immediately”. You'll find the “Use time crystals” button right on the running process.
Crystals are optional. You can play the whole game without them.
How do I get time crystals?
With a bit of luck, you'll find them on a successful excavation. The chance is shown on the excavation box.
You can also buy crystal packs from the Crystal Trader. Every now and then, the team hands out crystals too, for example in giveaways.
All finds, purchases, credits and uses are listed at the Crystal Trader in the “Crystals” tab.
How do I buy time crystals, and can I do it without an account?
Open the Crystal Trader, or “💎 Time Crystals” in the menu, and switch to the “Shop” tab. Bigger packs give you more crystals for your money.
“Continue to checkout” takes you to our payment provider CopeCart. The seller is CopeCart GmbH, and you'll get your invoice from them by email. All prices are final prices including VAT.
Crystals are only available with a game account, which is created when you unlock the company grounds. Without the grounds, the Crystal Trader stays closed. If you're under 18, please ask your parents first.
What happens if I speed up a mission with crystals?
You only get Imperials for the time the mission actually ran. Your Imperials bonuses still apply in full.
You lose the Fame for the duration. Finds, treasures and any crystals found on an excavation stay yours in full, including their Fame.
Before you confirm, the window shows you how many of the Imperials will still be paid out.
There are only a few minutes left. Do I lose the rest of the crystal?
A crystal always takes off up to one hour. If only part of an hour is left, it still costs a whole crystal.
You're never charged more crystals than needed, even if you set a higher number. And if the process is just finishing on its own, nothing is charged at all.
I bought crystals, but they haven't arrived. What do I do?
Usually the crystals show up within a few seconds, but depending on the payment method it can take a few minutes. They'll arrive even if you close the game in the meantime.
At the Crystal Trader, the “Purchases” tab shows the status: “being confirmed”, “completed”, “failed” or “cancelled”. If the game says the checkout link has expired, just tap the pack again.
If the crystals still haven't arrived after a longer while, email us at support@depotempire.com with your CopeCart order number. We'll add them for you.
Can I cancel a crystal purchase or get a refund?
The seller is CopeCart GmbH. The purchase contract, invoice and refunds all go through them, so please contact CopeCart about anything like that.
When you buy, you agree to immediate delivery and thereby waive your right of withdrawal.
If a purchase is refunded or charged back after all, we remove the crystals again, as far as you still have them. If a child made a purchase without permission, contact support@depotempire.com.
Do time crystals expire? Can I gift them or cash them out?
Your crystals don't expire, you can use them whenever you like.
They can't be cashed out, exchanged back for money or transferred to other players.
If you delete your game account, any crystals you have are lost without replacement. Before deleting, the game shows you how many you have left.
What is the “Battles & Defence” addon, and how do I get it?
The addon is an optional expansion, a tower defense game on its own map. You build towers for defense, put together a squad and attack places on the world map or other players' cities.
It's a one-time purchase, not a subscription. Open the Watch House on your company grounds and tap “Unlock now”. Just like crystals, it's sold through CopeCart GmbH.
The game stays fully playable without the addon. All questions about the addon are answered in its own FAQ in the Watch House.
⚙️ Settings & mobile
How do I change the language?
DepotEmpire is available in German, English and French. When you first start, the game follows your browser's language.
You can switch at any time under ⚙️ Settings in the “General” tab at “Game language”, or right in the welcome window using the flags. The change applies immediately.
It's saved on this device. With a game account, the server also remembers it, so it's the same on all your devices.
The game is laggy or my device gets warm. What can I do?
Open ⚙️ Settings and go to the “Graphics” tab. Pick a performance profile with one click, “Power saving” takes the most load off older devices. The game also shows which profile suits your device and how many frames per second it is managing right now.
Under “Fine-tuning” you set frame rate, figures and animations individually. Without figures, no more residents walk the streets, which saves the most performance. With the add-on, the same tab has an “Addon battles” section with the battle effects for the defence map.
All changes take effect immediately, “Done” closes the window.
How do I adjust music and sound?
Under ⚙️ Settings in the “Sound” tab, there are three sliders: Sound effects for the sounds of your city, Narrator for the voices and announcements, and Music for the soundtrack. The button to the left of each slider mutes it and brings back the previous volume afterwards.
Every age has its own music tracks, and all the songs are also on YouTube. Your browser only plays sound after your first tap in the game.
The soundtrack player opens from the menu under “🎵 Soundtrack”, and on a computer also from the “🎵 Soundtrack” button at the top right of the map. There you choose an era or “All eras” and a track, play it, in random order if you like, and set the music volume. With the “Battles & Defence” add-on, its music is included too. Your browser remembers the list, track and position, and the next time you start, it continues from there.
On iPhone and iPad, the slider only turns sound on or off. You set the volume there with the buttons on your device.
Can I play DepotEmpire on my phone?
Yes, DepotEmpire runs right in your phone's browser, no app needed. On phones, the game is built for portrait mode, on tablets both orientations work.
At the bottom you'll find the bar with City, Company, Missions, Training, Bag and “☰ Menu”. After you start, “Your day” sums up what's coming up.
Drag the map with one finger, and zoom with two fingers.
Where's the menu on my phone?
Tap “☰ Menu” at the bottom right of the bar or at the top. That's where all the menu items are: FAQ, Game info, Update history, Roadmap, Soundtrack, Settings, Legal and Report a problem.
You'll also find your stars there, “Edit profile”, your Imperials and the countdown to the next refresh. The Parqet button and the ⚙️ for your portfolio settings are up top in the header.
🔒 Progress, data & help
Where is my progress saved?
Your city lives in your browser. Investor name, title, profile picture, residents, gold, buildings, achievements, stars, login days and your settings are kept in your browser's local storage on your device. Your portfolio selection and the values fetched stay there too, and your browser keeps the Parqet access encrypted in a cookie.
Only when you unlock the company grounds, and after you agree, is a game account created on the server, for your company, the exchange and missions.
Is my progress gone if I clear my browser data?
On this device, yes. If you clear the site data, switch browsers or play in a private window, you start over there.
But the most important parts come back: when you reconnect your Parqet account, your city rebuilds itself from your portfolio, with residents, gold and age. If you have company grounds, the game also restores your company and everything else from the server.
The only things lost are those only your browser knew about, for example your settings and a few achievements. Without a game account, your loyalty count also starts over.
Can I keep playing on another device?
Yes. Open DepotEmpire on the new device, found your town and connect the same Parqet account. Residents, gold and age come straight from your portfolio.
If you have company grounds, the game recognizes your account by your Parqet account and carries over your company, Imperials, missions and login streak. You'll then see “Company account taken over from your other device”.
Portfolio selection, asset class filters, and sound and graphics settings are per device, so set them up again there if needed. There's no save file to take along, your Parqet account is the key.
How do I delete my game account, and what do I lose?
In the menu under “🔒 Privacy”, at the very bottom with “Delete server data”, or in the Imperials window. Deletion happens immediately and can't be undone.
Your company, all Imperials, buildings, items, missions, price history and exchange rank are deleted. Time crystals and a purchased addon are lost as well, and the game points this out beforehand. For legal reasons, we keep purchase records separately from your account.
Your city with stars and gold in the browser stays. Any open loan is settled automatically when you delete. You can start over at any time later by unlocking the grounds again. Your stars are then credited again, everything else starts from scratch.
How does DepotEmpire handle my data?
Other players never see your portfolio values, positions or amounts. What's visible is your investor name, your title, your profile picture and, with company grounds, your company on the in-game exchange.
DepotEmpire only sets technically necessary cookies: one that remembers that you've seen the privacy notice and, once you connect, an encrypted one for your Parqet access. We serve fonts and graphics ourselves. External services like PayPal, Ko-fi, Parqet, Instagram, YouTube or Discord are only contacted when you tap their link.
You'll find all the details in the menu under “🔒 Privacy”.
Where can I see what has changed in the game?
In the menu under “🗒️ Update history”, with the newest entry at the top. Each entry shows the date and version and whether it's something new, a bug fix or a balance change.
If “A new version is available” appears, tap “Reload now”. If the update still doesn't come through, reload the page on your computer with Ctrl+F5, on your phone close the tab and open it again.
What's planned next?
In the menu under “🗺️ Roadmap”, you can see what's coming in the next few months. Swipe right to look further into the future.
The months are planned, but not set in stone. Whatever is already in the game is marked “Live”.
How do I report a bug, and how do I reach support?
In the menu under “🐞 Report a problem”, briefly describe what happened and what you expected. Your report goes straight to the developers, and you don't need a game account for it. Please don't include any personal data in your report.
For everything else, you can reach support by email at support@depotempire.com or via the contact form next to the legal notice. You can also ask questions in the Discord community.
How can I support DepotEmpire?
If you enjoy the game, you can leave something via the “Tip” button (PayPal) or via Ko-fi. On your phone, you'll find both under “☰ Menu”.
It's a voluntary way to support development. Nothing changes in the game, and you get neither perks nor in-game currency for it.
Spreading the word helps too: follow DepotEmpire on Instagram, listen to the soundtrack on YouTube or join the Discord community.
